Safety First

    Safety & Protection

Every show should feel safe, comfortable, and respectful — for hosts, artists, and guests.

    For Hosts

    • All hosts complete identity verification and submit photos of their performance space before listing.
    • Hosts are responsible for maintaining homeowner's or renter's insurance and confirming it covers paid events.
    • Ticket verification via QR code scanning at the door — only verified ticket holders enter.
    • Set your own house rules: smoking, shoes off, off-limits areas, capacity, and more.
    • 24/7 support through The Doorman, plus email support during live show hours.

    For Artists

    • Verified hosts — every host completes identity verification and space photo submission.
    • Secure payments via Stripe — guaranteed payouts, no cash handling, no chasing payments.
    • Artist verification required: a one-time $5 identity check through our verification provider before your profile is listed for host booking. You keep 100% of merch sales and 100% of tips.
    • 70% of ticket revenue goes to the artist. Hosts and artists decide together if they want to work together — we never pick and choose who gets to play.
    • All members agree to our code of conduct and community standards.

    For Guests

    • Address privacy: exact location revealed only after ticket purchase.
    • Digital ticketing with secure QR code validation at the door.
    • Community ratings and feedback from previous attendees.
    • Every host completes a safety questionnaire and agrees to our code of conduct.
    • Accommodation for artists, when offered, is at the host's discretion — complimentary, paid, or negotiated directly between host and artist. Not guaranteed.

    Alcohol & Substance Policy

    Zero Tolerance

House Show does not permit alcohol at any event — no use, no sales, no BYOB, no exceptions.

Hosts may offer non-alcoholic beverages only: mocktails, water, sparkling water, soda, juice, lemonade, iced tea, coffee, tea, kombucha, energy drinks, and other zero-proof options.

This policy protects the host, the artist, and the platform from liability and insurance risk. It keeps coverage simple, keeps everyone safe, and removes the need for special permits.

Violation of this policy may result in removal from the platform.

    Insurance — Your Responsibility

House Show does not provide insurance coverage of any kind. Hosting and performing are at your own risk.

    • Hosts must carry their own homeowner's or renter's insurance and confirm directly with their provider that it covers paid, hosted events at their property.
    • Artists should carry liability insurance for performances and speak with their provider about coverage for private events.
    • We provide a curated directory of third-party event insurance providers on our Resources page for your convenience. We are not affiliated with any provider and receive no compensation.
    • We strongly recommend consulting with a licensed insurance agent to ensure you are covered for any situation that may require expanded coverage for this type of event.

Revenue share: Artists receive 70% of ticket sales, 100% of tips, and 100% of merch sales. Hosts receive 18% of tickets and 88% of food & beverage add-ons. Platform retains 12% tickets and 12% hospitality. These splits do not include insurance — coverage is separate and is your responsibility.
